Welcome to "Tatanka Bluffs" in the heart of the Minnesota River Valley!

Tatanka Bluffs
was formed and operates for the benefit of the citizens of Redwood and Renville counties and their future generations.  Our mission is to create economic sustainability and protect the natural resources in the Minnesota River Corridor between the Upper Sioux State Park, and Fort Ridgely State Park and areas surrounding Redwood and Renville counties.

We invite you to come and visit our "hidden" gems in our 26 neighborhoods and points in between!  Come see where history happened, visit our wineries and micro-brewery, our artists shops, Farmer's markets, Plum Creek and Laura Ingalls Wilder's home and Pageant at Walnut Grove!  We have 8 excellent golf courses in our area, camping, canoeing, biking, and you can check out the Minnesota Inventors Congress in June and FarmFest in August, both County Fairs, and all our community celebrations throughout the year!

"Tatanka Bluffs" vision is to build economic viability along the Minnesota River Corridor and throughout Redwood and Renville Counties.  Through communication, collaboration and cooperation, leaders and volunteers will create one of the top tourism destinations through its trademark brand and multi-faceted development plan.  The branding of "Tatanka Bluffs" will enable businesses to build on the vision through name recognition so our future generations can live, work, and prosper in the "Tatanka Bluffs" area.

"Tatanka Bluffs"
has five focus Areas:

1.  Outdoor Recreation:  Enhance tourism in our region by caring for and preserving our natural resources.  This includes natural resource preservation and enhancment for hunting, fishing, birding, and keeping the area in its natural beautiful state.  Trail development to provide recreational opportunities such as walking, biking, horseback riding, and snowmobiling for residents and visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery on a designated path.

We have six parks in Renville County along the Minnesota River Valley, one park at Lake Allie in the NE corner Renville County for you to explore, our "Hidden Gem"  -- Alexander Ramsey Park in Redwood Falls, Plum Creek County Park near the site of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant at Walnut Grove in Redwood County, and camping available at the City Park in Sanborn and Lamberton as well as campsites at the Historic Gilfillan Farm which is the annual site for FarmFest.  All great locations for birding or a canoe trip down the Minnesota River, Redwood River, or Cottonwood River!
